Lita Rossana Ford also known as Lita Ford as she is popularly known, was an American-born British guitarist and singer who was the leader of the only female hard rock band The Runaways during the late 1970s. It was not possible for the band to be a major hit in America but they gained a lot of acclaim in other nations particularly Japan. Ford began a heavy metal solo career when the group was disbanded in 1979. Her first solo release was called 'Dancin' on the Edge and was followed by the Album Out for Blood. Ford's albums were not very well-received and she stayed away for several years. Her smashing hit, 'Lita was released in the year 1989. Kiss Me Deadly was a huge hit as was the ballads Close My Eyes Forever and Kiss Me Deadly. However, her success was brief and she disappeared from the music industry for a number of decades.
