Sara Ramirez

Sara Ramirez has been a Mexican American actor, performer and songwriter for several years. As a child Sara was targeted for racial discrimination by many people in America. When she was in 9th grade she felt more secure after being applauded by her teachers for singing at a school's audition. The experience not only boosted her confidence but also shifted her goals for the future. In the year 22 she graduated the Julliard School of New York. At the age of 23 she made her debut at the Broadway in Paul Simon's The Capeman and in films with You've Got Mail. Her greatest break came in her performance as The Lady of The Lake as she appeared in the original Broadway version of Spamalot. She won the Tony Award and received great praise for the performance. In the following year, she was cast as Dr. Callie Torres in ABC's Grey's Anatomy. This led to her gaining wider fame. An accomplished singer She has also recorded songs as well as an extended piece. She's also an activist who works hard in the fight for LGBT rights.
